'The Legend of Lochnagar', 1993, was produced in Wales in association with BBC Scotland and Wales and ABC Entertainment. The watercolour features in the beginning scene, where His Majesty is working on the watercolour in his study until he is disrupted by a group of children who burst into his study. He then tells the children the story of the 'Old man who went to live in a cave in the highlands of Scotland on a mountain called Lochnagar'. This production also features the famous scene at the end when His Majesty plays the bagpipes and shrinks down to miniature size.

'The Old Man of Lochnagar' was written by His Majesty King Charles III in 1980 and was illustrated by Sir Hugh Casson. This story was one that King Charles told to his two brothers Princes Andrew and Edward when they were young boys. The book was published in aid of the Prince’s Trust Charity.
