19th century Swedish wall mirror in the manner of Burchardt and Gustav Precht, the bevelled rectangular plate within engraved border plates and bead mouldings, beneath double C-scroll arched cresting centred by an urn of flowers above oval subsidiary plate, flanked by floral sprays, 74.5cm wide x 131cm high
Burchardt Precht (d.1738), together with his sons Christian (d.1779) and Gustav (d.1773) were responsible for producing fine quality gilt-lead and giltwood mirrors in Sweden during the 18th Century.
The original design of the present lot has been attributed to both Burchardt and Gustav, one example of which is illustrated in G. Child, 'World Mirrors 1650-1900', London, 1990, p.297, pl. 768.
