Marc is one of the South West’s leading fine art auctioneers and valuers, starting his career in Bristol in the 1970s. He has a wealth of experience across the vast spectrum of Fine Art, Antiques & Collectables. Marc specialises in vintage wristwatches - a notable career highlight was valuing, cataloguing, and selling a rare 18k gold cased Rolex self-wind triple calendar moon phase wristwatch (Ref. 8171 – ‘Padellone’), which sold for £69,000. Another career highlight was valuing, cataloguing, and selling a Regency rosewood drum table for £235,000.
As Managing Director, Marc has overseen the various changes in the auction world over the decades. Marc combines the traditional aspects of auctioneering while keeping up to date with modern times to create an accessible, familiar, and enjoyable auction experience.
Marc’s time is divided between professional valuations for tax and insurance purposes, research and cataloguing for our Quarterly Specialist Sales, conducting and hosting auctions, visiting private clients, probate valuations, and more. He keeps an ever-watchful eye over the salerooms to ensure the highest standards.
